St. Soldier Seeks Blessings of God

             Sukhmani Sahib Path & Blood Donation Camp

To seek the blessings of the Almighty for success in the forthcoming Board Exams, Sukhmani Sahib Paath and Langar was organized by the school management at St.Soldier, Mohali. Students of Class XII paid obeisance to the Guru Granth Sahib. A special ardas was done for the success of the students in the exams.

Students, staff as well as parents of the students did the ‘sewa’ at the langar. Hundreds of people had their share of ‘parshada’. As the school is named after the great martyr, ‘Sh. Guru Gobind Singh Ji’, Gurupurab is celebrated every year as an annual event of the school. The paath marks the end of the session.

A Blood Donation Camp was also organized by SSESA (St. Soldier Ex-Student Association ) under the aegis of a team of eminent doctors from the Deptt. of Transfusion Medicine  of Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector-32, Chandigarh. The donors  were provided with a donor card, gifts by the Rotary Club and felicited with  Certificates apart from  refreshments and snacks for extending their helping hand and co-operation for this noble cause.

Farewell to Class XII of St.Soldiers’ Mohali

The students of Class XI of St. Soldier, Mohali held a function to bid farewell to their seniors in the school auditorium. The day was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers to reminisce joyous moments. The students presented a cultural bonanza of songs, dances and games. The highlight of the day was the Bhangra performance,
which enthralled the gathering with their rhythmic steps . The stage was
set ablaze with the ramp walk by Class XII students. Mr.Savroop Singh Brar XII-C and Ms.Gurleen Kaur XII-D were declared Mr.Perfect  and Ms.Perfect
respectively and Ms.Gatha Taya  XII-C was declared Ms Charming and Mr. Raj Kumar XII-D was declared Mr. Debonair. The school Head Girl Ms. Amanjot Kaur presented a vote of thanks. In the end , Ms.Anjli Sharma Principal of the school wished all the best to the outgoing students for success and accomplishments in all their future endeavors. Chairman S.Karnail Singh Brar extended his blessings and said good luck to the young children for a bright future and to become the brand ambassadors of the school.

Republic Day Celebration

St. Soldier School reverberated with the patriotic fervor and gusto as the
Management , Staff and zealous students celebrated India’s 69th Republic
Day.The occasion commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by
Principal Anjli Sharma along with Headmistress Amrit Kalsi, the founder teachers Ms.J.P.Kaur and Ms. Satwinder Kaur of the school. Every heart was pounding with saffron,
white and green hues.

The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. To mark the importance of this day, a special assembly was conducted by the

students of Class V-B under the guidance of Ms. Nishtha Bedi.who conveyed the significance of the three colours of the National Flag in a very unique way. This was followed by a Power Point Presentation prepared by the students of Classes VII-C and X-A under the guidance of their teacher Ms. Savita Arya highlighting the sacrifices made by the martyrs “Kar chale hum fida “ brought tears in the eyes of one and all. The dance performance by the students of Dance Club on “Chak de India” mesmerized the audience and brought about a fervent spirit of nationalism.

 

A direct telecast of Republic day parade and celebrations from the Rajpath in Delhi was showcased to the students who saw 10 leaders of the Association of ASEAN countries as guest of honour gracing the event and witnessing the cultural and social heritage as well as its defence capability that was put on display during the parade at Rajpath.

The function came to an end with the patriotic words by the
Principal. She reiterated the need to incessantly strive for
maintaining the integrity and peace for the prosperity of the Indian
Republic. The students were made aware about the vital duties of a
good Indian citizen. A pledge on Swacch India was taken. Sweets were distributed among the children.

Sardar Dalip Singh Memorial Table Tennis Tournament 2017

Sardar Dalip Singh Table Tennis Tournament kick started today following the declaration of the event open by the Director of St.Soldier, Mohali  S. Karandeep Singh Brar. Principal Ms Vinender Tiwana made the participants take the oath so as to observe the sanctity and maintain the spirit of camaraderie throughout the tournament which will end on 19thDec.2017. The School choir welcomed everyone by serenading a song that highlighted the sporty fervor. The Indoor Sports Complex of the school will witness the participation of  25 schools of the Tricity. This Championship entails only individual events for the U-12, U-14 and U-17 categories. A lot of zeal ,anxiety and the spirit of competition marked the events of the opening day.

Athlo-Kidfest 2017

Athlo-Kidfest held at St. Soldier Mohali

Athlo-Kidfest 2017 was organized by St. Soldier Int. Convent School, Mohali on December 2, 2017 in which students of Classes Play Group to lll participated enthusiastically. The synchronized March Past by the students of Classes VI and Vll, led by the NCC cadets was a delight to watch. A vibrant bunch of tiny tots  walked past spreading social awareness and communicated their messages  through banners and plancards. This was followed by the arrival of the torch which was carried in succession by eminent sports persons of the school who have reached the National Level- Harman Saini (Table Tennis), Manjinder Singh (Skating), Arman (Wrestling), Hemjit Singh (Hockey), Raj Kumar(Basket Ball), Lovepreet Singh(Basket Ball), Preetkaran Singh (Volleyball),Jobanjit Singh (Kabaddi). Director of the school S. Karandeep Singh Brar declared the meet open. The participants exhibited tremendous amount of zeal and spirit to fight to the finish in all the fun races which included the Pyramids Race, Plant a Tree Race, Froggies Race,  Dwarf Race, Sack Race, BBB Race (Balloon Bag Balance), Funny Bunny Race and so on amidst cheers from their parents, teachers and friends. The Taekwondo Drill showcased the self defense techniques. The marshals enthusiastically displayed the Korean Martial Art Taekwondo with vigour and zeal.The day also had a yoga flavour as the students displayed different asanas.
Drill Display, Zumba Dance, Charlie Chaplin Dance, Lilliput Dance, Jai Ho Dance and Bhangra were the main attractions of this mega event.
In the end , chairman of the school S. Karnail Singh Brar awarded the achievers of Athlo-Kidfest 2017. The day witnessed great spirit of participation, healthy competition, exciting victories and near misses. Principal  Vinender Tiwana applauded the students and teachers for this high spirited event.

The Wizard of Oz

Annual function held at St. Soldier Mohali

St. Soldier Int. Convent School , Mohali organised the Second phase of the Annual Function ‘Vibes 2017’ in the School Auditorium on 25th November. The students of classes lV and V took the audience to the wondrous landscapes of Oz with the stage dramatisation of the children’s treasured Broadway musical, “The Wizard of Oz.” They flawlessly narrated Baum’s vision of the fairyland and showcased the adventurous journey of  Dorothy to Oz with her new friends, the Lion, the Scarecrow and the Tinman. After a tornado sweeps her from her Kansas home she encounters both wickedness and wonder, Wizard and Witch, Munchkins and Monkeys on a quest to find  courage, brains, a heart for her friends and most importantly her own home. The young actors attired in resplendent costumes casted a magical spell on the audience with their captivating performance.The highlight of the play was the pitch perfect choir who with its plaintive melody and lyrics depicted a pre-adolescent girl’s desire to escape from the “hopeless jumble” of this world, from the sadness of raindrops to the bright new world‘over therainbow’.This classic tale of adventure inspired imaginations and reminded us of the power of self-confidence and also encouraged the students to look introspectively as well as beyond themselves, as Dorothy journeys from Kansas to Oz and back again, exploring and expanding the idea of “home”.In the end Chairman of the school S Karnail Singh Brar congratulated the teachers and students for putting up such a splendid show.

 

School Exhibition

‘7 DECADES OF INDEPENDENT INDIA’ exhibited at St. Soldier Mohali

Classes VIII-XII students of St Soldier School Mohali put up an exhibition on the ‘7 Decades of Indian Independence’ in a bid to create awareness on  India’s achievements in all the fields since independence and also on how during the past 70 years India has gone through several changes from political arena to social life and earned global recognition. Mrs. Ravinder Kaur (DEO Mohali) inaugurated the exhibition .
Rural and Urban Development’ depicted the myriad hues of various sectors of the country starting from the evolution of Indian States, Models of a Flyover, a Skyscraper, Metro & Malls amused the visitors. ‘Atithi Deva Bhavo’ covered exponential growth in india’s tourism industry where a special round of applause was given to the puppetry show , ‘Super Sports Scenario’ apart from giving information about Sports Stars like  Milkha S, Abhinav B, Sania Mirza  , P.V Sindhu  , Saina Nehwal , Sakshi Malik highlighted the school’s alumni who climbed the Mr.Everest recently.
Enlightening Education’ displayed the growth in the field of education over the years. ‘Banking & Industries’ accentuated the developments like the Launch of RBI ,LIC ,GreenRevolution, Demonitisation, GST etc, ‘Terrific Transport’ emblazoned the growth in the different  means of  transport,
Dynamic Defence’ displayed models of the latest war equipment like missiles , INS Vikramaditya ,  Apache etc. Its  main attraction was the future soldier created by the students that entailed future ground warfare and survival ability in diverse terrains. ‘Charismatic Cinema’ students not only put up the exhibits but also showcased their acting skills by impersonating their favourite bollywood stars. The students exhibiting ‘Exploring Space’ highlighted the importance of Science and Technology that will make the great space discoveries of the future possible and astronauts’ journeys to destinations farther into our solar system than ever before, including Mars. The biggest highlight of the exhibition was a replica of Amitabh’s KBC which was featured as ‘Kaun Banega Saupati’ wherein students and parents participated and answered questions related to 70 years of Independent India.
The traditional food stalls of different zones of India tickled the taste buds of every connoisseur. Overall it was a great learning experience. Chairman of the school S. Karnail Singh Brar appreciated the efforts of the students who took immense pride in exhibiting all what India has achieved over the years.

Children’s Day Celebration

Children’s Day celebrated at St. Soldier Mohali

The 128th  Birth Anniversary of our First Prime Minister, Late Pt. Jawahar
Lal Nehru was celebrated at St.Soldier’s Mohali with much fanfare. The Head
Boy for the day was Mr. Manish Parmar (Computer Teacher)and the Head Girl
was Ms. Nishtha Bedi ( PRT English) .The morning assembly  began with the
announcement of  Ulta-Pulta News by the Senior Secondary teachers and
Thought for the Day by Ms. Manseerat Kaur (PRT Eng) .Classes I and II
teachers mesmerized the children by showcasing their dancing and singing
skills and presented a parody comprising famous Bollywood songs of
children. The highlight of the day was the hilarious performance of
Headmistress Amrit Kalsi as a student with a fake stomach ache fooling his
teacher Ms. Prabhjot Kaur while Vice Principal Anjli Sharma played the role
of an over protected mother. Ms. Poonam Saini  performed the role of a
press reporter who accuses Principal Ms. V.Tiwana for not believing the
child and not providing any first aid to the suffering child who is caught
at last for pretending to get away with his Maths Test.

On the occasion of Children’s Day the school initiated ‘A Wall of Kindness’
to instill compassion in the young minds wherein students and teachers
generously donated clothes, woollens, toys and other household articles.
For the entertainment of the senior students “Kaun Banega Saupati” was also
arranged.

Principal Ms. Vinender Tiwana greeted the students and stressed upon the
need of being physically and mentally fit, being kind and patient to
parents and spending quality time with them whenever possible. Later the
children had class parties and enjoyed cookies arranged by the Management.
Toddlers- attired in their party dresses were welcomed by their respective
Class teachers and were later taken for a picnic to Chappar Chiri.

Director Mr. Karandeep Brar congratulated the children and applauded the
effort of teachers to enthrall their students.

Thought Provoking Assembly on Rally of Rivers.

A Thought Provoking Assembly at St.Soldier’s  Mohali

Class -II students of St. Soldier School Mohali under the guidance of Ms. Anuradha Beotra put up a special assembly on ‘Save Rivers’ and stressed its importance. The causes of the depletion of rivers and the ways to save them from depletion like growing of trees, controlling cutting of trees etc. were explained. ‘Rally of Rivers’-an initiative taken by Sadguru was also informed. The assembly ended with a song sung in praise of rivers.

Gurupurab Celebration

 Gurupurab was celebrated at St. Soldier Mohali

Guru Nanak Jayanti was celebrated at St. Soldier Mohali with great enthusiasm. In the morning assemblies the senior students of Class IX D and the junior students of Class II C under the guidance of their Class teachers Ms. Poonam Mehta and Ms Monika Singh enlightened the students about the birth, birthplace and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji ,who is the founder of Sikhism and the first guru of sikhs. They sang two beautiful Shabads in praise of the great Guru.
