Special Assemblies on Diwali
Special assemblies on Diwali were conducted by the students of Class II-A and III-C under the guidance of their Class teachers Ms. Daljit Kaur and Ms. Maninder Kaur respectively. In attractive costumes and using appropriate props Class II students enacted and narrated the story of ‘The Ramayan’ and also enlightened the students on how to celebrate safe Diwali and warned them against the bad effects of crackers on the environment.
The students of Class III-C invited the Principal to light the lamp to begin the assembly. They melodiously sang the song ‘Diwali Aayee…” and apprised the audience about the spiritual significance of Diwali and why it is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Jains. They concluded the assembly with messages like “Shun Crackers”, “Celebrate Green Diwali”, “Celebrate Safe Diwali to get blessings not curse”. They also appealed to use earthern lamps instead of electric lights and exchange plants instead of gifts with friends and relatives.
