Monsoon Masti at St. Soldier’s Mohali

In its endeavour to develop multiple intellegence, St. Soldier, Mohali
organized a Monsoon Masti week for the Pre-Primary Section of the
school wherein the little ones were engaged in a number of activities
related to their current theme ‘Monsoon’.

The downpour of activities began with the ‘Monsoon Feast’. The
toddlers brought monsoon delicacies like pakoras, kheer, puras,
gulgulas in their tiffins and came to school dressed in blue. On the
second day, Nursery and K.G. students made paper boats for their
‘Puddle Play’.

It was followed by Recitation Competition by Class I & II
students on the theme ‘Rain’. The week concluded with the ‘Fancy Dress
Competition’  in which the tiny tots catwalked, dressed up  as fruits,
vegetables, animals , insects and clouds found in the rainy season.
The highlight of the Competition was the child dressed as a ‘Drop of Water’.

A sudden spell of rain took everyone by surprise. Teachers promptly
arranged a rain dance and the enthusiastic children donned their
monsoon paraphernalia like swimsuits and opened their umbrellas, wore
their raincoats and danced to the tunes of popular rain songs.

Principal Ms. Vinender. Tiwana and Headmistress Ms. Amrit Kalsi
appreciated the efforts of the teachers and parents for encouraging
their children to participate in the ‘Monsoon Masti’

.

Class 10 Board Result 2017

 The much awaited Class X result brought relief  and rejoice at St Soldier Mohali . The students once again proved their intellectual prowess in AISSE .  27 out of 139 scored the perfect 10 . 52 students scored above 9 CGPA

Techfest – 2017 held at St. Soldier Mohali

St. Soldier’s annual feature ‘Technothon 2017’ , the two day Mega Event with the theme ‘International Year of  Sustainable Tourism’ provided a wonderful platform to the young minds. The Techfest not only aimed at enhancing the skills of information technology of the participants but also apprised them of  Sustainable Tourism. There were about more than 150 students from sixteen schools of the Tricity.

On day one , students competed in Colour Splash (Theme:  Any Tourist Destination in India). The budding web designers brilliantly presented their websites(Theme  : Website of a Travel Agency) .

On day two, the bloggers exhibited their technical powers and writing skills on the theme of ‘Terrorism- a major threat to Tourism’. Artistic adeptness was showcased by the contestants of  Poster Making Competition based on the theme ‘Eco Tourism’. In Movie Making (Theme: Digi Promo-Advertisement for a tourist destination  budding artists from various school showcased their movie making skills with utmost perfection.

Chairman Karnail Singh Brar  applauded the efforts of the Principal and teachers for selecting this internationally relevant theme  which made the event a great success.

The judges Mr. T.P.S. Jassal, M.Tech, IIT, Delhi, Mr.Survir , Senior Manager –KIPS Learning Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Panchkula. and Ms. Madhu Arya  , Content Editor- KIPS Learning Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Panchkula had a tough time judging the  equally competent participants.

World Laughter Day Celebration

World Laughter Day was celebrated by the Pre-Primary Wing of St. Soldier School Mohali. Students of Class II-D, under the guidance of Ms. Anuradha Beotra conducted the morning assembly on “ WORLD LAUGHTER DAY ”

They apprised that this day is celebrated on the first Sunday of May every year.

They said laughing and hugging make us feel good and improve our everyday chores. A day without laughter is a day wasted.

So we must laugh whenever we can. They also added that laughing is a powerful emotion to change the world into a peaceful and positive place.

They sang two songs-

“It isn’t any trouble just to SMILE …….”

“Hanste hanste kat jaaye raste”

Principal V. Tiwana appreciated the effort of the little ones and conducted a quiz.

Words like smile, laughter, grin and guffaw were introduced and students explained each of them by demonstrating the difference between smile and laughter, laughter and guffaw.

Labour Day was celebrated 1 May 2017

Labour Day was celebrated in St. Soldier School , Mohali. The tiny tots of Class II-C under the guidance of Ms Monika Singh honoured and thanked the Class IV employees of St. Soldier School Mohali including the maids, sweepers, gardeners, gatekeeper and caretaker. A special assembly was put up by them to enlighten the audience about the significance of the day and the importance of helpers in our lives . In the skit they stressed on the importance of being educated to  avoid exploitation by employers. They recited  a poem and sang a song ” Hum mehnatkash is duniya se jab apna hissa maangegein “. Senior students under the guidance of Ms. Inderjit Kaur of Class VIII-A apprised the audience when and how Labour Day is celebrated all over the world. They also stressed the importance of doing the work themselves.They ended the assembly by singing the old number “Saathi Haath Badana “.

At the end of the function toddlers made the employees feel special by
presenting them with handmade greeting cards, flowers and gifts. The helpers were later treated to refreshments and snacks.  Principal Vinender Tiwana along with Headmistress Amrit Kalsi and Vice Principal Anjli Sharma also expressed their gratitude in their speeches.

Red Day celebrated April 2017

To create awareness about colours – Red Day was celebrated atSt. Soldiers Mohali. Toddlers dressed in red were welcomed at the gate by their teachers also attired in red. Class I I-B under the guidance of Ms. Kiratleen put up the morning assembly and apprised the students that red is the symbol of  love, joy, passion and happiness. It is also the colour of danger. Dressed up as strawberries, apples, water melons, carrots, post boxes and roses, they further cleared the concept of the colour Red. They stressed the importance of various fruits and vegetables which are red in colour . Various activities related to the colour were conducted by the  Activity Incharge Ms. Deepa Sood.The little ones sang songs like ‘Red Red Apple’, ‘My Red Balloon’ and ‘Aha Tamatar Bada Majedar’. In their song they sang in praise of the colour which said that all their favourite things including their dress was red.   They relished red Rooh Afza and red food items during break time and went home happily with red tattoos on their faces made by their respective teachers.

Investiture Ceremony Apr-2017

Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. With the power, comes great responsibility. In keeping with the tradition of the school, once again before the commencement of the new academic session 2017-2018, the Investiture Ceremony of SSICS was held on 18th April 2017 in the School Auditorium. The guest of honour was Col Jasbir Singh Cheema, Commanding Officer 3, Punjab Coy Rupnagar.
The newly appointed Head Boy- Savroop Singh, Head Girl- Amanjot Kaur,Dy. Head Boy-Vinayak Gupta, Dy. Head Girl-Aanchal Thapa, Activities Incharge-Ishleen Kaur, Sports Incharge- Arshdeep Singh and Captains of all four houses alongwith the other cabinet members were sworn in by the Principal so as to shoulder their newly assigned responsibilities to the utmost of their ability, integrity and dedication. She appreciated the services rendered by the previous office bearers who did full justice to their posts and urged the new appointees to do their duties with loyalty and told them to honour the trust bestowed on them with full commitment. Later on the new appointees had a meeting with the Principal over a cup of tea and refreshments.
