The months of November and December witnessed a flurry of Table Tennis Tournaments and students brought laurels to St. Soldier School Mohali. Recently, Punjab State Table Tennis tournament was held at Ropar from 5th to 7th Dec.Four students of our school represented Mohali district and bagged the third position. Jaskanwalpreet Singh, Jaskirat Singh and Abhinam (Under-14), Harman Saini (Under-17) defeated Ludhiana , Amritsar Distt. respectively. We wish these shining stars of the school all the best for their future endeavors.

Kaleidoscope of Colours and Dances
St. Soldier School Mohali celebrated the third and last phase of the Annual Function ‘Vibes-2016’ in the School Auditorium on 3rd December. ‘Kaleidoscope of Colours’ by Play Group, Nurseries and K.G.s mesmerized one and all. A dynamic mix of creative expression was seen when the little ones showcased the primary colours along with other secondary colours in a unique way. The tiny tots attired in colourful costumes exhibited colours through songs, dances and drama. In the evening show ‘The Rocking World’ – dancing stars of Classes I,II and IV enthralled the audience as they tapped their feet and set the stage on fire with their synchronized dance performances. They displayed their hidden talents and emotions through dances from all corners of world ( Cow Boy, Zumba, Rock ‘n’ Roll , Spanish, Bulgarian, Belly dance, Russian, Indonesian, Chinese to name a few of them). Bhangra was the highlight of the event as it added the flavour of India. The dances of all the countries joining them in the finale was a thrilling visual treat for the audience. In the end, Director Karandeep Singh Brar congratulated and applauded the effort put in by the students and teachers. Both the finales stole the heart of the spectators which was followed by Christmas and New Year Greetings.
Banda Bahadur the Braveheart brought to life
To commemorate the 300th Birth Anniversary of Banda Singh Bahadur-a historical play ‘Banda Singh- The Brave Heart’ was staged by the students of Class VIII which brought alive the heroic deeds of the great Sikh Warriors. The play highlighted the commitment of Banda Singh Bahadur to make India free from the Mughal emperors. The Shadow Play skillfully depicted the wars of Sirhind and Chappar Chiri and the execution of Banda Singh Bahadur and his son which made the audience emotional and into tears. The art of Gatka displayed by the students was highly appreciated. The court scenes of Farooq Khan , Bahadur Shah and the Mughal Nawab were also applauded. The rendition of Shabad ‘Deh Shiva Bar Mohe” and “Sura Soh Pahchaniye” instilled the feeling of patriotism in each and every viewer. The audience joined in the jaikaras of Jo Bole So Nihal-Sat Sri Akal at each and every instance. Chairman S. Karnail Singh Brar congratulated and applauded the effort put in by the students and the teachers in staging the play.
ACHIEVEMENTS IN NCC
The cadets of St. Soldier School Mohali attended the Annual Camp organized at the NCC Academy,Ropar from 5th Sep 2016 to 14th Sep 2016. The students showed their prowess in Riffle Shooting . The following students have done the school proud by bagging the following prizes.

It was a day of celebration when the Under 14 table tennis team of St Soldier International Convent School lifted the CBSE Cluster XIII Championship Trophy .
Athlofest 2016
Athlofest 2016 was organized by St. Soldier Int. Convent School, Mohali at the GMADA Sports Stadium, Sector-78, Mohali on November 5, 2016 in which students of Classes IX to XII participated enthusiastically. The synchronized March Past by the students of Class XII, Scouts and Guides of the school led by the Head Boy, Head Girl and Sports Leaders was a delight to watch. This was followed by the arrival of the torch which was carried in succession by eminent sports persons of the school. The Oath taking Ceremony was conducted by Principal Vinender Tiwana after which the athletes solemnly pledged to uphold the spirit of true sportsmanship and the Guest of Honour – Capt. Ashish Singh Sr. SP.-Fleet Personnel declared the meet open. The participants exhibited tremendous amount of zeal and spirit to fight to the finish in all the track and field events amidst cheers from their parents, teachers and friends. The Panorama of sports, Rainbow Dance, Dandiya and Bhangra were the main attractions of this mega event.
In the end , the achievers of Athlofest 2016 were awarded by the Guest of Honour- S. Mewa Singh Dy. Director Sports (Pb). The day witnessed great spirit of participation, healthy competition, exciting victories and near misses of all the houses.
Children’s Day celebrated at St. Soldier Mohali
The 127th Birth Anniversary of our First Prime Minister, Late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru was celebrated at St.Soldier’s Mohali with much fanfare. The Head Boy for the day was Mr. Neeraj Sharma (PGT Physics ) and the Head Girl was Ms. Nishtha Bedi ( PRT English) .The morning assembly began with the announcement of Ulta-Pulta News by the Senior Secondary teachers . The Pre-Primary and Primary teachers mesmerized the children by showcasing their dancing and singing skills respectively. The highlight of the day was the hilarious performance of Headmistress Amrit Kalsi as Pummy Aunty which enthralled all. The Hindi, Science and Social Science teachers of the school sang a parody of songs on the change of currency notes. Principal Ms Vinender Tiwana greeted the students and stressed upon the need of being physically and mentally fit. Vice Principal Ms Anjli Sharma also wished the students . Later the children watched a movie ‘I am Kalam’ courtesy – Smile Foundation . Back in the classrooms, they were treated to snacks .
On Friday Children’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the Junior Wing of St. Soldier School Mohali. The toddlers-attired in their party dresses were welcomed by their respective Class teachers.
A special morning assembly was conducted by Class II-B under the guidance of Incharge Ms.Anuradha Beotra wherein the students apprised the significance of celebrating Children’s Day. A student dressed as Jawahar Lal Nehru was the highlight of the show.They concluded with a song which expressed Chacha Nehru’s love for the children and the country at large .
The Activity Incharge Ms. Deepa Sood narrated a story in which the children learnt about their love, duties and responsibilities towards their parents, teachers, friends , helpers etc. After that they sang the famous children’s songs with their Music teacher Ms. Arti Teji and their Class teachers.The young ones had Class parties and got cookies from the management. Director Mr. Karandeep Brar congratulated the children and applauded for their effort. Principal Vinender Tiwana and Headmistress Amrit Kalsi joined the young ones in singing and dancing. Overall there was a lively atmosphere in the Junior Wing.
Grandparents’ Day Out 22 Oct 2016
Grandparents are a family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy the greatest storytellers, the keepers of traditions with loving, generous and caring hearts. To acknowledge the great work and significant role which grandparents play in the lives of their grandchildren, St. Soldier School, Mohali hosted ‘GRANDPARENTS’ DAY OUT’ with gusto and elation in the school auditorium on 22nd Oct 2016.
The occasion commenced with the Welcome song by the little ones followed by the lighting of the lamp by the Chairman Mr. Karnail Singh Brar and Director Karan Deep Singh Brar. Headmistress Amrit Kalsi welcomed the grandparents and apprised them that their grandchildren were as dear to the school as they were to them. The first event of the day was a melodious rendition by Nurseries. They mesmerized and transported everyone to the fabulous world of fantasy. The energetic and cute enactment and singing of the cherubs of Class II.The performance of K.G.s captivated everybody’s heart and soul. Fun Games engaged the parents throughout. Dressing
your spouse was the most entertaining game.
The good old era of 70s and 80s regaled the parents and made them dance to the famous film songs. A hilarious parody depicting the comparative study of grandparents of now and the past filled the ambiance with guffaws of laughter. Headmistress Amrit Kalsi applauded the excellent efforts of each and every participant and teachers for putting up such a successful show.
Dassehra celebrated 10 oct 2016
Dassehra was celebrated at St. Soldier Mohali with great enthusiasm. The tiny tots of Pre-Nursery C under the guidance of Ms. Sherleen put up the morning assembly. They enacted the Ram Leela in a cute manner singing bhajans like Kabhi Ram ban ke, kabhi Sham ban ke… and Ram ji ki nikli sawari Ram ji ki leela hai nyaari. They were appropriately dressed up. Ravana stole the show with his guffaw ha ha ha ….At the end Principal Vinender Tiwana conducted a quiz for the toddlers on the epic- Ramayana and the little ones answered all the questions zealously. Headmistress Amrit Kalsi applauded the efforts of the little ones and their teacher. She also appreciated the parents for their co-operation in arranging beautiful costumes. Jai Shri Ram echoed in the air.
Tiny tots preach Good Manners and Good Habits
Tiny tots of KG-B presented an activity in the morning assembly on “Good Manners and Good Habits “ under the guidance of their class teacher Ms Madhu Gupta at St. Soldier School Mohali. After a short role play the little champs spoke inspiring lines on the theme. It was a learning time for all the students attending the assembly which concluded with a melodious song on Good Manners.
