The group of St. Soldier School, Mohali comprising Disha, Divreet, Bhavika, Muskaan, Chahat and Kamalpreet bagged the first prize and also got the “Best group dance of the year “ award in the “ Dancer of the Year” competition held on 25th December, 2015 at Bal Bhawan, Sec-23, Chandigarh organized by CIPAC (Chandigarh Institute of Performing Arts). Another feather in the cap of the school was added by the Dance teacher Ms. Harpreet Kaur Suri, who was honoured with the “Best Choreographer of the year” award on the same occasion.

Table Tennis Tourney at St. Soldier Mohali
Sardar Dalip Singh Table Tennis Tournament kick started on 26thNov,2015 following the declaration of the event open by the Chairman of St. Soldier , Mohali S.Karnail Singh Brar . Principal Ms Vinender Tiwana made the participants take the oath so as to observe the sanctity and maintain the spirit of camaraderie throughout the tournament which will end on 28thNov.2015. The School choir welcomed everyone by serenading a song that highlighted the sporty fervor. The Indoor Sports Complex of the school will witness the participation of 20 schools of the Tricity. This Championship entails only individual events for the U-12, U-15 and U-18 categories. The prize distribution function will take place on 28th Nov.2015. A lot of zeal , anxiety and the spirit of competition marked the events of the opening day.
St. Soldier’s students paid tribute to soldiers
In the morning assembly students of Class VI-A under the guidance of their teacher Ms. Manjeet Rai paid tribute to the soldiers in a form of a skit. A birthday scene was enacted to show that children should remember our soldiers serving on land , air and on the coast on our birthday by first lighting a candle for them .
In the end the entire school took a pledge to salute the soldiers whenever they come across them and show their respect towards them.
Field trip to Sanghol
Students of St. Soldier School, Mohali visited the two excavation sites at Sanghol (Punjab). They were also taken to the museum where all kinds of excavated things were exhibited. Things from the Harappan period like pottery,storage vessels made of terracotta, large bowls made of stone, bones and ivory, coins, minor antiques made of metal, animal figures, human heads etc. were seen. It was an enriching experience indeed.
Children’s Day Celebrated at St. Soldier Mohali
The 126th Birth Anniversary of our First Prime Minister, Late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru was celebrated at St.Soldier’s Mohali with much fanfare. Mr. Sandeep Tony (TGT Maths) impersonated the character of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru . The Head Boy for the day was Mr. Neeraj Sharma (PGT Physics ) and the Head Girl was Ms. Manpreet Kaur ( PGT Fine Arts) .The morning assembly began with the announcement of Ulta-Pulta News by the Senior Secondary teachers . The Pre-Primary and Primary teachers mesmerized the children by showcasing their dancing and singing skills respectively. The highlight of the day was the dance performance of Ms. Harpreet Suri which enthralled all. The Hindi, Science and Social Science teachers of the school sang a parody of songs on the classroom situations. Principal Ms Vinender Tiwana sent a special message to wish the children as she was on a trip to NASA with the senior students of the school. Headmistress Amrit Kalsi and Vice Principal Ms Anjli Sharma greeted the students . To entertain them further they gave a hilarious definition of a life cycle bringing smile to every face. Later the children watched ‘Chiller Party’ in the school auditorium. Back in the classrooms, they were treated to snacks .
Diwali Celebration
The festival of lights , victory of good over evil-Diwali was celebrated in its true spirit by the students and faculty of St. Soldier when they visited an orphanage ‘Gur Asra Trust’ and distributed sweets, clothing and happiness in order to illuminate the lives of the inmates. The students and the teachers spent valuable moments with them which will be cherished throughout their lives. It was a noble gesture to think about the lesser children of the Almighty and bring joy and brightness in their otherwise dismal world. This spirit of Diwali should be kindled in each and every human heart and carried on till eternity. The students of Class X along with their teachers Ms.Jagmeet Kaur and Ms.Nidhi Jain donated a handsome amount .
