Dear Parents

An amount of Rs. 22,800/- has been sent to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and woollens are being sent through the Gurudwara Sahib Management. Thank you also for the co-operation regarding Mehendi application on Karwa Chauth
Changes in Assessment
In order to wean students away from Rote Learning, the following changes are being brought about in the pattern of assessments from Class-I onwards:
a. Problem Solving Assessment: One of the Class Tests in each subject will be based on Problem Solving questions in the form of puzzles, riddles, application of knowledge etc. These will be new questions not done earlier. 25% of the questions in the Unit Test will also be based on Problem Solving.
Students will be given oral/written practice during regular Classroom Sessions to get them used to the change.
b. Open Text Book Assessment: Another Class Test will be based on finding, sorting or applying knowledge from the textbook which will be kept open during the assessment.
c. Language of Questions in Junior School: In order to promote understanding 1 or 2 questions in every Class Test will not be presented in the same language as given in the Students’ notebooks although the context of the question will remain the same. S.A II will also have the same pattern. This is already being implemented in Senior School.
You may contact the Vice-Principal/ Headmistress between 9.30 – 10 a.m. on phone or in person for any guidance or further clarification on the above mentioned changes
Sincerely
PRINCIPAL
