Shri Akhand Path Sahib
To celebrate the 25th year of St. Soldier International Convent School Mohali , the school management has organized Shri Akhand Path Sahib only for the School Staff & their Family members.The bhog of Shri akhand Path was solemnised on Sunday (20th May 2018) followed by kirtan and langar at St. Soldier School, Mohali to mark the silver jubilee celebrations. The campus was decorated with balloons, silver buntings and flowers.
Technothon 2018 – An Inter School Computer Carnival
St. Soldier’s annual feature ‘Technothon 2018’ , the two day Mega Event with the theme ‘India and the Commonwealth Games’ provided a wonderful platform to the budding technocrats to showcase their innovativeness , creating and technical competence. The Techfest not only aimed at enhancing the skills of information technology of the participants but also apprised them about the history of the Common Wealth Games and the exciting Odyssey of our country in these games over the years.There were about more than 130 students from nineteen schools of the Tricity.
On day one , students competed in Colour Splash (Theme: Imagine and design your own Mascot for Commonwealth Games 2022) and PowerPoint Presentation (Theme : India on the Commonwealth Platform) .
On day two, artistic adeptness and individuality was exhibited by the contestants of Poster Making Competition based on the theme ‘Invitation for Commonwealth Games 2022’. The bloggers zealously showed their technical powers and writing skills on the theme of ‘Does the Commonwealth have relevance in Today’s World?’.
The judges Mr. Daljit Singh , Director –Global Infotec ,Mohali and Ms. Jasdeep Kaur ,Technical Manager at ICAII gave valuable tips to the participants about PowerPoint Presentation , Blog Writing and Poster Making. It was neck and neck competition in almost all the categories which gave a tough time to the judges to deliver the final verdict. The following were the proud winners.

Investiture Ceremony 2018-19
Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. With the power, comes great responsibility. In keeping with the tradition of the school,once again before the commencement of the new academic session 2018-2019, the Investiture Ceremony of SSICS was held on 17th April 2018 in the School Auditorium. The guest of honour was Colonel Manu Solankey, Commanding Officer 3, Punjab Coy Rupnagar.
The newly appointed Head Boy- Hardeep Singh, Head Girl- Shruti Garg,Dy. Head Boy-Akshit Moudgil, Dy. Head Girl-Kamakshi Behal, Activities Incharge-Priyanka Rana, Sports Incharge- Prabhdeep Singh and Captains of all four houses alongwith the other cabinet members were sworn in by the Principal so as to shoulder their newly assigned responsibilities to the utmost of their ability, integrity and dedication. She appreciated the services rendered by the previous office bearers who did full justice to their posts and urged the new appointees to do their duties with loyalty and told them to honour the trust bestowed on them with full commitment. Later on the new appointees had a meeting with the Principal over a cup of tea and refreshments.

Li’l ones just out of their mothers’ laps received a warm welcome on their first day at school. Their favourite Cartoon characters like Doremon, Mickey, Minni and Bunny shook hands with them and lured them to run into the school with sweets and balloons. Attractive tattoos were made on their faces and hands before they went into the arms of their teachers. Nursery Rhymes, Songs and balloon decorations at the gate made the entire ambience lively for the young ones. Headmistress Ms. Amrit Kalsi gave a warm welcome to the newcomers and their parents at the gate.
Graduation Ceremony
Change is the way of life and a change for the better is an event to be celebrated. It was a proud moment for the parents, when the young Class -V soldiers of St. Soldier School Mohali, proudly donned their Graduation Gowns and hats.
The programme commenced with a rendition of the Welcome Song. The parents and the teachers cheered the students , as they walked on stage and was honoured with their certificates by Chief Guest Dr. Rajesh Chaudhary,Ph.D (Ayurveda).
While congratulating the graduates and their parents, Director Karandeep Singh Brar emphasized on having a stress-free atmosphere and teaching of life skills in school and at home as well. Headmistress Amrit Kalsi welcomed the august gathering and bid adieu to the children wishing them all the best as they took their first step towards greater responsibilities in life. About 106 students of Class V were welcomed into the more challenging phase of their lives and stepped into the Senior School. Principal Anjli Sharma congratulated the graduates and wished them good luck for future.
Effective Learning & Teaching Workshop
A workshop on Effective Learning & Teaching was conducted at St. Soldiers Mohali on 05-03-2018 by Prof B.L. Handoo an eminent educationist & a seasoned teacher . The session started with the methods of teaching with the help of visual, auditory , tactile and kinesthetic styles. Excellent tips on Effective teaching by Engaging Emotions, Increasing interaction, Making Meaning , Getting Learners Ready , Reducing Threat , Using Powerful Questions, Engaging All senses , Teaching different learners differently , Being Inspired to inspire and by Giving Feed Back were given .98 ways to say “ Very Good “ were informed effectively. Overall it was a very informative workshop.
Rhymes Day
Rhymes n Recitation Day
Rhymes stimulate students to learn the language naturally and quickly. Keeping this in mind ‘Rhymes n Recitation’ was held at St Soldier School , Mohali for the students of pre primary where the tiny tots presented the rhymes with beautiful props, gestures and voice modulation. It was an excellent opportunity for them to gain confidence through stage exposure. The activity also helped them to enhance their speaking skills. Excellent themes for the songs like We love Grandparents, Reading is fun, Love the Mother Earth, Happy Helpers, Travelling is fun and Always be happy.
The trophy for the best recitation was bagged by the students of KG-B.The First Runner’s Trophy was clinched by the students of Nursery C and the Second Runners up trophy went to Pre Nursery A.
Ms Amrit Kalsi, Headmistress of the school while appreciating the students’ creativity and performance, stated that such stage exposure gives boost to the students’ confidence.
In the end, principal Ms Anjli Sharma congratulated all the participants who made excellent display of their artistic talent.
Recitation Day
Recitation Day at St. Soldier Mohali
St Soldier School, Mohali organized Recitation Day on 21-02-2018. Principal Ms. Anjli Sharma welcomed the August gathering and introduced the judges Ms. Inderjit Grewal –Head of the Junior Wing YPS and Ms. Kirat Sandhu -HOD English at Sant Isher Singh School, Mohali who took up the onerous task of Judgement. The judgement was based on pronunciation , intonation , voice modulation, confidence, props, entry , exit and body language of the students.
Students of Classes I and II recited English and Hindi poems with full gusto. Each section recited poems on various themes like Life, Water, Swachch Bharat Abhiyan, Mom and Dad, School, India and Traffic Rules.
The Trophy for the Best Recitation was bagged by the students of Class II-C , who recited the poems ‘Arithmetic’ and ‘Oh Bhagwan zara padke toh dekho’. The Runner’s Trophy was clinched by the students of Class I-A for their poem ‘Life’ written by Mother Teresa. Headmistress Amrit Kalsi appreciated the effort made by the students and teachers in making this day a grand success . Chairman ,S. Karnail Singh Brar gave away the Trophies to the winners .
