Mohali Zonal Basket Ball Tournament was held at St Soldier Int Convent Phase VII Mohali from 23rd to -26 th August .
Janamashtami Celebration
To celebrate the spirit of Janamashtami Class X-A enacted the episode from the life of Lord Krishna and presented the message of ‘Good Over Evil’. The enactment was based on the mythological story of Krishna and Kalia Naag. The whole dramatization took place during the assembly time and was well performed by the students under the guidance of Mrs. Sarabjit Kaur. The performance was applauded by the Principal Vinender Tiwana and other faculty members.
Child Labour Condemned
Students of Class X-B conducted a thought provoking Class Assembly on ‘Child Labour’ under the guidance of their Class Incharge Ms Jasmeet Kaur . The theme of the Street Play was -Don’t deny them their right to childhood. Don’t deny them their right to education. They highlighted the problems faced by child labourers and why they lack opportunities of education.
Harman Saini State Champion
Harman Saini & Jaskamal Singh of Class VIII has bagged the Ist Position & 3rd Position in The Punjab State Open Championship organized at Amritsar . He had earlier bagged Ist &3 rd Positions in Mohali Ranking Championship at Jullundhar . Now U -15 they have topped the chart . The school and Parents have always encouraged the children . Harman Saini was adjudged the Best Sports Person of the Academic Year 2015-16 since he had been participating in all the Inter House , School & Open Championships conducted at the School , District and State Level .
Eleven Students Make to State Championship
It was a day of excitement at St Soldier International Convent School, Mohali when 9 Students out of 11 of Under 14 , Under 17 and Under 19 were selected for State Level Basket Ball Tournament .
Winner of U-19 ,Rajkumar & Vishwajeet Singh registered their entry into the State Championship by defeating Basketballers of the Mullanpur Zone .
Jaskarandeep Singh and Jaskaran proved their mettle in Under 17 by defeating the players of Kurali Zone and Under 14 Arshdeep Singh and Gagandeep Singh battled for victory against Janjeri Zone .
Simaranjeet Kaur and Tanveer Kaur helped in defeating the team from Kurali Zone .
Two skaters ,Manjinder Singh and Nikhil has bagged two gold and one Silver in District Skating Championship. They have also been selected for State Skating Championship .
Students Enthrall Mentors
A teacher is indeed influential in moulding the destiny of a child . To express their deep devotion and reverence towards their teachers, the students of St. Soldier School ,Mohali presented a colourful array of performances , celebrating Teachers’ Day.
Mentors were greeted warmly as they entered , with greeting cards made by students . The classes were taken over by ‘Student-Teachers’ who managed them effectively.
The celebration for the day commenced with a PPT on the Life of Dr Radha Krishan the great Teacher and many other teachers who have made an impact on the society followed by heart rending songs by all the four house s. The Kapil Show by the students of Class X stole the show The Principal , Vice Principal and the Headmistress were the guests. Teachers and students enjoyed , ‘To Sir with Love’, an all time Classic .
Principal , V. Tiwana , appreciated the effort of students for organizing and presenting the whole show .

Ms Harpreet kaur was honoured for Meeting Deadlines especially Updation of Digital DATA Ms. Jasmeet Kaur , Ms Manpreet Kaur and Ms Neetu Suri for being the Most Regular Teachers.
The Decadians ( Those who have completed 10 years of service ) were also awarded. They were Teachers Ms. Jagmeet Kaur, Ms. Chaity Biswas, Ms. Shelly Ghai and helpers Neelam ji and Meenu ji.
Later , teachers were treated to a sumptuous meal organized by the management of the school. 14 teachers were awarded for their achievement during the session 2015-16
Accolades 2016
A dream becomes a goal when action is taken towards its achievement.
The Annual Prize Distribution 2016-2017 Ceremony at St. Soldier School Mohali was an occasion to acclaim the achievements of meritorious Soldiers who have attained excellence in academic and co-curricular spheres through their dedicated efforts and perseverance . Felicitating the achievers not only motivates them to set new benchmarks for themselves , but also spurs on their peers to aim for similar heights. Mr. Rajinder Singh Sohal , SP Patiala was the Chief Guest. ‘We welcome you with a smile’, a melodious rendition followed by the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest and invocation to the Goddess of knowledge ‘Saraswati’ marked the beginning of the event.
Hon’ble Principal Vinender Tiwana delivered the Welcome Address and thanked the Chief Guest for sparing his valuable time. The Annual Appraisal read out by the Principal apprised the audience about various feats of the students, launching of new ventures etc.
The students of Class XII who brought laurels to the school by bagging highest aggregates were also honoured. Richa Saini from Humanities scoring 95.4% followed by Chahat Kalsi with 94.2% . Nandita Arora with 93.6% from Medical . Rajinder Kaur with 91% from Non Medical and Jasleen Kaur bagging 80% from Commerce were felicitated . Twenty four students of Class X also won accolades for getting a perfect 10 C.G.P.A.
The students from Class I to X were awarded for their excellent performances in Scholastic and Co-scholastic fields. All rounders from all the sections of Classes I to XII were also honoured . Sneha Jha of Class IV-B and Ayush Gupta of Class III-C won the Junior Best Artist Awards . Upasana Saini of Class IX-B won the Senior Best Artist Award. Harman Saini VIII-C, Preet Karan VIII-C and Ankush of Class IV were the proud recipients of the Best Sportsperson Award . The Best House Trophy was clinched by Sahibzada Zorawar Singh House whereas the Best House Sports Trophy was bagged by Sahibzada Ajit Singh House.
The Chief Guest delivered an enlightening speech and congratulated the proud recipients and their parents. A token of appreciation was given to him by the worthy Chairman Mr. Karnail Singh Brar for his motivational presence throughout the award ceremony. The event ended with the vote of thanks.
Monsoon Masti
In its endeavour to develop multiple intellegence, St. Soldier, Mohali organized a Monsoon Masti week for the Pre-Primary Section of the school wherein the little ones were engaged in a number of activities related to their current theme ‘Monsoon’.
The downpour of activities began with the ‘Monsoon Feast’. The toddlers brought monsoon delicacies like pakoras, kheer, puras, gulgulas in their tiffins and came to school dressed in blue. On the second day, Nursery and K.G. students made paper boats for their ‘Puddle Play’.
It was followed by Recitation/Singing Competition by Class I & II students on the theme ‘Rain’. The week concluded with the ‘Fancy Dress Competition’ in which the tiny tots catwalked, dressed up as fruits, vegetables, animals , insects and clouds found in the rainy season. The highlight of the Competition was the child dressed as a ‘Drop of Water’.
A sudden spell of rain took everyone by surprise. Teachers promptly arranged a rain dance and the enthusiastic children donned their monsoon paraphernalia like swimsuits and opened their umbrellas, wore their raincoats and danced to the tunes of popular rain songs.
Principal Ms. Vinender. Tiwana and Headmistress Ms. Amrit Kalsi appreciated the efforts of the teachers and parents for encouraging their children to participate in the ‘Monsoon Masti’.
Spreading Happiness
The students of Class V-D of St. Soldier Mohali conducted the morning assembly based on the theme “Happiness” under the guidance of their Class Incharge Ms. Nishtha Bedi. The importance of happiness was highlighted through the medley of songs which mesmerized one and all. Happiness is an eternal state of mind and can be created irrespective of the external comforts that surround us was the message spread by the students through their performance. In the end, there was happiness in the air.
Toddlers conducted special assembly
The toddlers of St. Soldier School, Mohali conducted an activity on Responsibility in the morning assembly under the guidance of their Class Incharge Ms. Poonam Sandhu. They spread the message of being responsible and motivated others to be responsible through a melodious song ” No matter if young or old you are, it’s just a part of life, that’s my responsibility “. Principal Ms. Vinender Tiwana applauded the effort put in by the teacher and conducted a quiz to ensure that the li’l ones had understood the complex word.
