Rally conducted to create awareness about elections in general masses

Students of St. Soldier School, Mohali took out a rally around the school premises to create awareness about elections among the general masses. More than fifty students along with NSS and NCC students participated in the rally to educate the people about  the importance of choosing the right candidate for elections with the help of banners, placards and slogans. The students motivated the people and informed them that voting is a fundamental right and it is mandatory to for every citizen to vote , thus encouraging the people to vote in the coming elections.

Fire Safety Week

The students of St. Soldier School observed Fire Safety Week . They were instructed on how to extinguish fire in case of an emergency by the Police Personnel. A fire brigade van was brought to the school premises for this purpose. They reminded the students to call 101 immediately in case of fire. They were taught various ways  in which fire could be avoided or extinguished. They were also apprised about various safety measures which need to be taken in case of a fire emergency. 

Orientation Programme

An Orientation Programme was held on 9th April 2019 at St. Soldier School ,Phase VII , Mohali for parents and students of Classes IX and X.

The programme was conducted by Principal Ms. Anjli Sharma wherein the changes in the curriculum for session 2019-2020 were highlighted. Parents and students were informed and updated about the change in Mathematics Examination viz Basic and Standard. The passing criteria regarding theory and internal assessment was also discussed. It was an interactive and informative session.

Investiture Ceremony

Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. With the power, comes great responsibility. In keeping with the tradition of the school,once again before the commencement of the new academic session 2019-2020, the Investiture Ceremony of St. Soldier School, Mohali was held on 5th April 2019 in the School Auditorium. The Chief Guest was Major Udaiveer Singh, 102 Pb(TA) .

The newly appointed Head Boy- Jaskaran Singh, Head Girl- Gurleen Kaur, Dy. Head Boy-Parth Gupta, Dy. Head Girl-Arshnoor, Prefects: Aryan Datt, Khushpreet Kaur and Sukhman Saini. Captains of all four houses alongwith the other cabinet members were sworn in by the Principal so as to shoulder their newly assigned responsibilities to the utmost of their ability, integrity and dedication. She appreciated the services rendered by the previous office bearers who did full justice to their posts and urged the new appointees to do their duties with loyalty and told them to honour the trust bestowed on them with full commitment. Later on the new appointees had an interactive session with the Principal over a cup of tea and refreshments.

Toddlers Welcomed on First Day

Little ones just out of their mothers’ laps received a warm welcome on their first day at St. Soldier School, Mohali. Their favourite Cartoon characters like Doremon, Mickey, Minni and Bunny shook hands with them and lured them to run into the school with sweets and balloons. Attractive tattoos were made on their faces and hands before they went into the arms of their teachers. Nursery Rhymes, Songs and balloon decorations at the gate made the entire ambience lively for the young ones. Headmistress Ms. Amrit Kalsi gave a warm welcome to the newcomers and their parents at the gate. 

Graduation Ceremony

Change is the way of life and a change for the better is an event to be celebrated. It was a proud moment for the parents, when the young Kindergarteners of St. Soldier School Mohali, proudly donned their Graduation Gowns and hats.

The programme commenced with a rendition of the Welcome Song. After lighting of the lamp Saraswati Vandana was presented by Diya of KG B .A skit on Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan was applauded by one and all. The parents and the teachers cheered the students , as they walked on stage and was honoured with their certificates by Chief Guest Ms. Ashwini Gotyal (ISP).

 While congratulating the graduates and their parents, the Chief Guest emphasized on having a stress-free atmosphere and teaching of life skills in school and at home as well. Principal Anjli Sharma welcomed the august gathering and bid adieu to the children wishing them all the best as they took their first step towards greater responsibilities in life. About  106 students of KG were welcomed into the more challenging phase of their lives as they stepped into the Primary Wing. Headmistress Amrit Kalsi congratulated the graduates and presented the vote of thanks. The function ended with the Big Thankyou from the young graduates through a song with cute actions.

Blood Donation Camp

SSESA (St. Soldier Ex-Student Association ) under the aegis of a team of eminent doctors from the Deptt. of Transfusion Medicine  of MAX Hospital,Phase-6, Mohali  organized a Blood Donation Camp in the School premises of St. Soldier Int. Convent School, Phase-7, Mohali on 23rd Feb. This gracious endeavor was made in collaboration with Rotary Club. The donors  were provided with a donor card and felicitated with  certificates apart from  refreshments and snacks for extending their helping hand and co-operation for this noble cause. In all 40 units of blood were collected

Rhymes ‘n’ Recitation Day

Rhymes ‘n’ Recitation Day is one of the most eagerly awaited days at St. Soldier School, Mohali. It is through the rhymes and songs, the young ones learn the English language with correct pronunciation and voice modulation. The themes chosen for awesome rendition were enchanting which gave the onlookers both food for thought and infotainment. From ‘We are the best’, ‘Music is life’, ‘Dream Big’, say ‘No to Junk food’ to ‘Love God’s Creation’ and many more thought provoking topics, these cherubs regaled everyone by their melodious and cute recitation with well co-ordinated actions. Principal Anjli Sharma applauded the wonderful effort made by the students and teachers for making this day a memorable one. Chairman S. Karnail Singh Brar also felicitated Venus, a gymnast from K.G.-C who has been awarded National Golden Hind Award 2019 by the former CM of Delhi, Ms. Shiela Dixit.

Republic Day

 Republic Day  celebrated at St. Soldier, Mohali

St. Soldier School reverberated with the patriotic fervor and gusto as the
Management , Staff and zealous students celebrated India’s 70th Republic
Day.The occasion commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by
Principal Anjli Sharma along with the advisor Ms.Vinender Tiwana and Headmistress Amrit Kalsi who took the salute from the NCC contingent of the school. Every heart was pounding with saffron, white and green hues.

The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. To mark the importance of this day, a special assembly under the guidance of Ms. Heena Kalia  was conducted by the students of Class V-A who conveyed the significance of fundamental rights and duties in a vivid manner. This was followed by the patriotic messages from the Chairman S. Karnail S. Brar and the Principal . The students were made to take a pledge so as to initiate the quest of cleanliness with themselves, school , locality, society and their country. The mesmerizing dance performance by Ms. Harpreet Dubey showcased a fervent spirit of nationalism which filled every heart with the spirit of sacrifice and brought tears to the eyes of all.

A direct telecast of Republic Day parade and celebrations from the Rajpath in Delhi was showcased to the students who witnessed  South African president Cyril Ramaphosa as the chief guest along with fifty-eight tribal guests from various parts of the country, 22 tableaux of states and central government departments and performance by school children gracing the event and admiring the cultural and social heritage as well as its defence capability that was put on display during the parade at Rajpath.

Sweets were distributed among the children.

Skaters bring laurels

Skaters bring laurels to St. Soldier’s Mohali

National Roller Basketball Championship was held in Punjab University wherein the students (Under 17 boys) of St. Soldier Int. Convent School Mohali played from Chandigarh and won Gold medal beating U.P. by 6-3. The following players have also been selected for International Championship to be held in Nepal.
